Shared Resources

The JCCC currently provides eight shared resources to help JCCC researchers discover how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

In addition, the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine has over 70 Core Facilities for researchers, students and staff.

Biostatistics, Analytical Support & Evaluation (BASE)

BASE serves as the biostatistical and biomathematical resource for investigators in the areas of basic science, translational and clinical research design, data analysis and modeling, computing, and data management.

ES Cell/Transgenic Mice

The ES Cell/Transgenic Mice Shared Resource provides a multi-tiered service to accommodate individual investigators' needs in the production of transgenic mice and provide these services with high standards of quality control in a cost-effective manner.

Flow Cytometry

The Flow Cytometry Shared Resource provides instrumentation, and technical and professional assistance for performing laser-based flow cytometry. The also perform consultation and educational support for all research professionals.

Genomics

The Genomics Shared Resource provides comprehensive next generation sequencing and microarray services in a cost-effective and timely manner to serve the UCLA’s basic, translational and clinical researchers.

Informatics

The Informatics Shared Resource develops and supports informatics applications and shared informatics resources for UCLA investigators, and programs and cores that have projects requiring complex information systems.

Molecular Screening

The Molecular Screening Shared Resource provides small molecule chemical libraries for screening by investigators across different scientific disciplines. They also can tap into existing libraries and develop new libraries in conjunction with UCLA chemists.

Small Animal Imaging

The Small Animal Imaging Shared Resource provides imaging to UCLA investigators and larger scientific community. They also assist with study design, procedures, training and data analysis for interpretation of results.

Translational Pathology Core Laboratory

The Translational Pathology Core Laboratory Shared Resource provides human tissue procurement, histology services, laser capture microdissection, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, digital pathology and image analysis, and pathology consultation services.
