JCCC Research Seminar Featuring Dr. David Underhill
How to Get in Touch with Your Inner Gungus: Innate Immunity to Commensal Fungi
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Los Angeles, California 90095
David M. Underhill, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Inflammatory Bowel & Immunobiology Research Institute
Director, Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences and Translational Medicine, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Dr. Underhill's laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms by which blood phagocytes such as macrophages and dendritic cells recognize microbial pathogens and initiate inflammatory responses. His research hopes to facilitate the understanding, in exquisite detail, how macrophages and dendritic cells translate recognition of microbes into inflammatory responses will lead to the design of targeted interventions to clinically manipulate these processes.
Light lunch served.
Sponsored by the JCCC, the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and the UCLA AIDS Institute
