Scientific Interest(s):
Dr. Grace Xiao's group is interested in the regulation of gene expression at the RNA level via the process of pre-mRNA splicing and other post-transcriptional (or co-transcriptional) mechanisms. They are investigating how different sequence motifs and trans-acting regulatory RNA or proteins exert concerted regulation to gene expression and how such regulation is disrupted in disease processes. Their work makes use of high-throughput sequencing and microarray expression technologies and approaches in molecular biology and bioinformatics.
