Dr. Xia Yang’s primary research aims to identify gene regulatory networks that are perturbed by genetic and environmental risks of metabolic disorders (obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases) using systems biology and integrative genomics approaches. Yang’s research also explores the mechanistic connections between metabolic diseases and cancers with the goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies.
