Jeffrey F. Miller, Ph.D.
M. Philip Davis Chair, Professor
Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics
Associate Director, Pacific Southwest Regional Center of Excellence in Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases
Dr. Miller's lab studies molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis and the evolution of functional diversity in bacteria and bacteriophage. Multidisciplinary approaches are applied to a variety of interests including biochemical and genetic studies of signal transduction networks, alterations in host cell signaling pathwaysm, biofilm formation and microevolutionary adaptation by diversity-generating retroelements.
