This year's event, entitled Sabor Latino, was held at the landmark Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on June 10, 2005. Barbara Fairchild, editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit Magazine, chaired this special event. Actors Andy Garcia and Edward James Olmos were this year's recipients of the Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award (actor Hector Elizondo accepted the award on behalf of Olmos).
Epicurean Evening is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. This year's culinary extravaganza featured a Latin theme, Sabor Latino ~ Latin Flavor, with the participation of some of the top chefs from Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Latin America, including James Cassidy, Four Seasons Resort Papagayo Peninsula, Costa Rica; Herve Fucho, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico; Ashley James, Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, Argentina; Regis Lacombe, Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, Mexico; and Jose Salas, Four Seasons Resort Carmelo, Uruguay. Premium wines were donated by Nickel & Nickel.
This spectacular evening included both a silent and live auction of over 100 exciting and unique items, and featured the music by Leslie Paula and the Latin Soul Band.
Epicurean Evening 2005 raised over $400,000, with more than 230 business, entertainment, and community leaders in attendance.
