Ken Dorshkind

Ken Dorshkind, Interm Director, and Director, Shared Resources

In addition to his role as interm director of the JCCC, Kenneth Dorshkind, Ph.D., serves as professor and vice chair for research for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine. Patricia Ganz, Director, Prevention and Control Research, and Director, Patients and Survivors Research Program

Patricia A. Ganz, M.D., is a medical oncologist who has spent the past 20 years doing systematic research on the health-related quality of life impact of cancer and its treatment. She currently holds an American Cancer Society Clinical Research Professorship, and is a professor in the UCLA Schools of Medicine and Public Health. (More...)

Robert DuWors comes to JCCC from the University of California, San Francisco, Cancer Center and Research Institute, where he served as associate director of administration and finance for five years. Roshan Bastani

Roshan Bastani, Associate Director, Disparities Research and Co-Director, Cancer Prevention and Control Research

Roshan Bastani, Ph.D., is a health psychologist whose main research focus over the past two decades has been the study of access to health care among low income, ethnic minority and other underserved groups. She has conducted numerous community-based intervention studies designed to evaluate the most effective and efficient means of reducing cancer disparities. (More...)

Meghan Brennan, Director, Administration, Clinical Research Unit

Meghan Brennan, R.N., M.S.N., O.N.P., is an oncology nursing practitioner, whose professional career has spanned clinical, industry and academic based research and practice. Her area of expertise has been focused on solid tumors in adults, namely breast cancer. Brennan earned her B.S. in Nursing at Georgetown University, and completed her M.S.N. in Oncology at UCLA.  (More...)

Stephen Smale

Stephen Smale, Director, Basic/Translational Research

Stephen T. Smale, Ph.D., is a molecular immunologist and biochemist who joined the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the UCLA School of Medicine in 1990 as an assistant professor. In 1999, he was promoted to full professor in the newly formed Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics, which spans the UCLA College of Letters and Science and the David Geffen School of Medicine, and for which he is currently vice chair.  (More...)

Arash Naeim, M.D., Ph.D., is a health professional whose career has spanned a combination of health services, informatics and policy and care issues. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine in the divisions of Hematology-Oncology and Geriatric Medicine at the David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine. He is also director of both the Geriatric-Oncology Research and Training Program and Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program at UCLA, as well as a faculty Assistant Vice Chancellor of Research for Research Informatics.
