Scientific Interest(s):

Dr. Brigitte Gomperts' research focuses on adult stem cells' involvement in repair and regeneration of the lungs. She has identified adult stem cells in the bone marrow and blood stream that are recruited to the lungs after injury and that contribute to normal repair of the lungs. One of the major goals of her research is to mobilize these circulating adult stem cells in order to help lung repair after injury.
