Scientific Interest(s):

Dr. Shen Hu's research interests are in the area of cancer and autoimmune disease proteomics focusing on understanding the molecular mechanisms and developing diagnostic/therapeutic applications. Using mass spectrometry and protein microarray technology, Hu and his colleagues have discovered protein biomarkers for early detection of oral cancer and Sjogren's syndrome and identified target genes underlying the molecular mechanism of Sjogren's syndrome. Hu's research group is also interested in single cell proteomics and related applications in stem cell and developmental biology.
