Scientific Interest(s):

Dr. Mary Sehl is interested in mathematical and statistical modeling in translational cancer research. One focus is in aging and cancer, with work studying patterns and predictors of functional decline in older breast cancer survivors. Another interest is in stochastic modeling of cancer stem cell extinction and niche dynamics that can be applied to leukemias as well as solid tumors. Other projects involve implementing statistical methods to best analyze cumulative genetic effects and gene-gene interactions in patients at high risk for breast cancer.
