Scientific Interest(s):

Dr. Catherine Carpenter is interested in the prevention of breast and lung cancer through lifestyle intervention.  Most notably, she has participated in population case-control studies of lung cancer and breast cancer in postmenopausal women during her doctoral and postdoctoral training.  Over the last several years, Carpenter has conducted studies of weight loss resulting from diet and exercise intervention and of protective changes observed in the breast microenvironment among obese postmenopausal women.
