Scientific Interest(s):
A nationally renowned expert with more than 25 years of experience in breast imaging, Dr. Lawrence Bassett focuses his research on breast cancer screening, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast and other applications of technology to the diagnosis of diseases of the breast.
Bassett and collaborators are addressing the national shortage of breast imaging specialists by training a group of breast imaging fellows using a year-to-year grant from the Avon Foundation. To date, they have trained more than 85 breast imaging fellows across the country in one of the most productive programs in the United States.
