Who We Are

Healthy Lives After Cancer is a program dedicated to helping teen and young adult cancer survivors access survivorship information and resources available in the Los Angeles community.

Why Our Program Exists

Teen and young adult cancer survivors (aged 15-39) face unique emotional, physical, and social issues after treatment ends and many years later. We understand that it may be difficult to get back to the “new normal” or you may feel different from friends your age. Our program exists to provide teen and young adult survivors with information and resources to live healthy after cancer.

We bring together experts, community organizations, and survivors at our quarterly survivorship seminars to share information and resources to empower survivors.

Topics of the survivorship seminars include:

  • Health insurance
  • Education and employment rights
  • Coping with anxiety of recurrence
  • Nutrition and exercise
  • Managing your health care
  • Fertility, relationships, and dating
  • Scholarships and financial aid
  • And any other topic that you want

*We welcome all survivors (and family, friends, and spouse)—no matter where you
received treatment—to join our survivorship seminars and follow us online*
